  • AFCG grasped the opportunity to acquire and invest in Japanese hospitality sector in 2022 when Japan was still under Covid lockdown. We understood that Covid presented a once in a lifetime opportunity to acquire Japanese hotels at significant discounts.
  • AFCG mapped out a business plan, arranged financing executed the plan with the support of our valued clients.
  • We acquired the Tokyo & Kyoto hotel assets in 2023 and rebranded it under the WANDER brand.
  • With circa 200 keys under management, our team steadfastly implemented operational & management changes. Assisted with the return of tourism in Japan over the coming quarters, the performance of the hotels improved significantly.
  • AFCG we have stabilised the assets and continue to push values.

The SH Hotel, Kyoto

  • AFCG identified SH Hotel in Kyoto as a good valued investment in 2023. With Kyoto hospitality market on the recovery and Japanese landlords still needing liquidity, the purchase of the SH Hotel is a testament to our execution capabilities.
  • The asset was hotly contested as opportunistic global investors were already hunting assets in Kyoto. We prevailed with the acquisition because of our expertise and experience. We have the knowledge, people and structures in place to give comfort to the vendors that we can complete the deal on time.
  • We understand Japanese culture, we combine Singaporean efficiency and we have the key elements for a smooth transaction.
